In your reflection, tell about what you've learned:

--about your topic? what surprised you?

I found a lot of information I didn't know about AA and alcoholics in general. For example, I was not aware of how many AA groups there actually are and how you can find one close to you almost no matter where you travel. I also was surprised on it's history and how many people's lives the program has changed.

--about writing? what steps of this process were especially difficult or rewarding for you?

I struggled a lot with the grammar and punctuation of the writing pieces. I had trouble wording the information and coming up with my problem statement. This project was very stressful at times, but the peer review sessions were very beneficial and I learned a lot and am now more confident in my writing abilities. It was definitely a step up from what I learned in my high school english classes.

--about your major? do you see yourself using multiple genres in your future career? why or why not?

I learned about writing in my major and how many research papers I will be writing. Moreover, I really learned the most about my major from the interview and paper we had to write about. I learned about the profession and type of writings I will be doing the most with what I want to do.
